Visitors that are interested in Cretan cuisine can participate in our Cretan traditional cooking lessons and prepare local delicious dishes with the guidance of the cooking advisor and the assistance of a local lady. All ingredients are fresh and local.

Detailed instructions and full recipes are provided. In addition, useful information about the herbs, olive oil and other ingredients used, is given together with explanations about their nutritional quality and ways of usage.

Vamos is ideally situated at a strategic point allowing short excursions to other places of interest in the Chania region:

Vamos - Kefalas - Kokkino Xorio - Gavalochori - Douliana - Vamos, asphalt road, 28 km An asphalt road through well-preserved traditional neighbourhoods, the combination of medieval, 19 century, and nowdays architecture, impressive village churches, old schools, pass by cultivated and wild nature with a view on the Northern Cretan sea and the White Mountains, meet the locals on the villages squares.

Wheat Harvest

By the end of June in the fields of village Nerohori, we join the harvest, the fruit of the labour of the last months together with harvest meal (oven fresh bread) and the cool village wine.

Culture is standing high up to the "system of values" of Vamos Traditional Village. We believe that alternative tourism, our main working topic, has to show off, among others, the cultural characteristics of the area but also to give the opportunity to everybody to be in touch with the today's art creation.
